LEADERSHIP

Founding Partner Michael Rachlin, AIA, LEED AP was the creative force behind the firm from its very beginnings. As Director of Design, he provided a guiding vision for the firm’s projects. Informed by the perspective gained during his early experience at some of Los Angeles’ most highly acclaimed design firms, Michael’s work has been praised by clients and peers for his client-centered creativity.

Michael established Rachlin Partners in 1982 in Los Angeles, California, and it soon flourished as a fully integrated architecture, planning, interior design, program management and construction management organization. It has grown to include a staff of 25 and has built a reputation for imaginative and innovative solutions. Its wide variety of project types include education, healthcare, and government facilities for both private and public clients.

In April 2022, as part of a merger and acquisition, Rachlin Partners was acquired by Godspeed Capital / Huckabee Architects. Godspeed Capital Management LP is a private equity firm. In announcing the move, Michael Rachlin, Founding Partner of Rachlin, said, "We are thrilled to partner with Godspeed Capital and join the Huckabee platform, whose expertise in the K-12 markets nationally are a powerful complement to Rachlin's own collaborative and client-centric focus on architecture for public education and government. We look forward to integrating into the growth platform and working alongside Huckabee to build upon our core areas of expertise, invest in our technology-enabled design solutions, and expand Rachlin's geographic footprint."

With its emphasis on education, healthcare, and government facilities for public and private clients across Southern California, Rachlin filled an essential need for Huckabee Architects, Godspeed Capital's new Architectural, Engineering, and Consulting growth platform. Rachlin enhances the platform's value-added delivery, while furthering its ability to provide cutting-edge, technology-driven design and engineering solutions in high-growth education and government markets across the United States. In particular, the integration significantly expanded the geographic reach of Huckabee's platform from Texas to California, the second largest K-12 education market in the United States.

Following the transaction, Rachlin's management team has continued to lead the company as a new California-focused vertical within Huckabee.
