Satellite Maintenance Building

Long Beach Community College District
Long Beach, California

A new, $2.5 million Satellite Maintenance Building provides much-needed upgrades to the utility infrastructure at the 30-acre Pacific Coast campus of Long Beach City College. In addition to designing a new Central Plant—which comprises chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps and piping—Rachlin Partners provided full architectural/engineering services to update mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, drainage), electrical systems (cables, panels, lighting, power, transformers) and data / telecommunication systems.

The Satellite Maintenance Building project also provides a new Main Distribution Frame and Data Facility. The scope of work extended to site development and landscaping, as well as to the repair of site conditions across the Pacific Coast campus.
